How Can We Help Your Class?
Field trips at TCDC can work particularly well to meet curriculum for Grades 4 and 6 science. Trips can be tailored to your class and what you want them to learn on the trip.
Grade 4 – Habitats and Communities
- Explore different ecosystems and the animals that call them home
- Learn to look for and identify animal tracks
- Talk about adaptations of animals and plants to their environments
- Learn some basic plant ID and about where they like to grow
- Discuss some of the food chains present in the park
Grade 6 – Diversity of Living Things
- Explore the different ecosystems and learn to count different species
- Practice plant and animal ID with simple guides and tracing exercises
- Observe macroscopic creatures by critter dipping and digging into the soil
- Identify organisms from the Plant, Animal, and Fungi Kingdoms
